Record-Breaking 500 m² Stretch Ceiling Israel

Every custom project has its own challenges, but some projects become special milestones.

This time, our team faced a real giant — a single stretch ceiling with an impressive area of almost 500 m², the largest ceiling we have ever produced at Saros.

Producing a ceiling of this scale requires much more than just a large piece of material. Every step demands extreme precision: cutting the canvas, welding multiple seams, preparing all technical openings, reinforcing them, and welding the harpoon system around the entire perimeter.

With a ceiling of this size, there is almost no room for error. Long-distance transportation, significant logistics costs, many hours of production work, and a complex installation process meant that every detail had to be checked carefully before the ceiling left our factory.

The whole Saros team was waiting for feedback from the installation site — and the result was exactly what we hoped for. Everything worked as planned.

We are proud of our production team, but we would also like to highlight the outstanding work of the installation specialists. Installing a stretch ceiling of this scale is a serious technical challenge requiring experience, patience, and excellent teamwork.

Large-area stretch ceilings always require careful planning. Besides installation complexity, one of the key factors to consider is possible material sagging. Integrated elements such as lighting, ventilation openings, or other ceiling installations can help improve tension distribution and reduce this risk.

For very large uninterrupted surfaces, using a divider profile may sometimes be the safest and most reliable solution.

This project became a new milestone for Saros — proof that experience, engineering knowledge, and teamwork make even the most challenging ideas possible.
